Kangayam​​ Cow

Kangayam Cattle originated from the southern India in Kangayam, Dharapuram, Perundurai, Erode, Bhavani and Gobichettipalayam located in Coimbatore district.

They are also called Kongu or Konganad.Kangayam cows are medium sized and have a compact structures.
Their fur is red in color, but changes to gray during or after 6 months of age.
Cows are mostly gray or white, but the colors are red, black, fawn and broken patches of color, while bulls are gray with dark colored hump, front and hind quarters.

Kangayam horns are separated,  almost straight with a slight curve at its back. Their eyes are black with prominent black rings around them.
